Abstract

This paper explores the role and the potential of labour-managed firms in the case of company crises and succession planning. We review the theoretical and empirical literature and provide an overview of practical expert knowledge in Germany. On the basis of these findings we propose further research questions and carve out the potential contribution of labour-managed firms in the stabilisation of small and medium-sized firms.
