Abstract

Bonus systems for members of credit unions can be important components of member promotion services. In particular, economic exchange relations between members and banks can be strengthenedwhich in turnmakesmembership more attractive.However, as an instrument of differentiation in a competitive environment those bonus systemsmay be less appropriate. In this case, bonus systems have to be specifically tailored to the long-term strategy of a credit union and its members.
