Abstract

Um die Ziele der Pariser UN-Klimakonferenz aus dem Jahre 2015 zu erreichen, wurde auf EU-Ebene unter anderem die EU-Taxonomie-Verordnung umgesetzt. Sie zielt darauf ab, Kapitalflüsse in Richtung nachhaltiger Aktivitäten zu leiten und somit die nachhaltige Transformation der europäischen Wirtschaft zu unterstützen. In diesem Zusammenhang wurde als regulatorische Transparenzanforderung für Banken die Green Asset Ratio (GAR) eingeführt. Mit Ablauf des Geschäftsjahres 2024 haben erste Banken mit Hilfe dieser Kennzahl offenzulegen, wie groß der Anteil der taxonomiekonformen Positionen an der Bilanzsumme ist. Auf Basis einer quantitativen Befragung aller Sparkassen in Deutschland (Rücklaufquote: 34,84 %) sowie zehn qualitativen Interviews werden im Beitrag die Auswirkungen der GAR auf die Kreditvergabe ermittelt sowie Handlungsempfehlungen für Kleine und Mittlere Unternehmen (KMU) abgeleitet.
