Abstract

Most studies on socio-economic impacts with regards to poverty reduction in developing countries are micro-level case studies on single enterprises. They focus mostly not on mainstream but small-scale, alternative tourism products (see Mitchell & Ashley 2010, S. 15). As some authors doubt the beneficial socio-economic potential of such offers (see e.g. Mowforth & Munt 2003; Strasdas 2001, p. 11 f.; Scheyvens 2002, p. 68) the current case study will examine one specific mass tourism product, the all-inclusive tourism. By analysing the direct (employment and income possibilities) and indirect effects (supply chain) of the hotel Robinson Club Nobilis in Turkey, the case study will also present recommendations to enhance positive effects for the region. Thus, the study will help to reduce the lack of research within this topic.
