Abstract

In institutionalistischer Perspektive wird die Institutionalisierung der Unternehmensberatung nachgezeichnet und die These geprüft, ob ihr gegenwärtiger Umbruch Chancen für eine Rückkehr von Gesellschaft und Organisation eröffnet. „Beratung als gesellschaftliche Institution” bietet neue Einsichten in die wechselseitige Beeinflussung von Unternehmensberatung, Unternehmensorganisation und Gesellschaft, die in Öffentlichkeit, Beratungspraxis und Beratungsforschung eher verkürzt und kaum als Möglichkeit wahrgenommen wird, die jeweils eigene Praxis zu hinterfragen. Dass sich das ändern kann, wird am Beispiel der kontingenten Re-Institutionalisierung von Unternehmensberatung gezeigt.
