Abstract

Reverse logistics in industry developed rapidly in last years. It concerns the material flow of products which cannot be longer exploit according to their original designation (old products, defect products etc.). They are collected, sorted and recycled for their exploitation in the next production cycle. In animal production a similar flow is created by dead animals or parts of dead animals from slaughterhouses or meat processing firms. These materials are also collected, sorted and processed into products as industrial fat or meat bone meal. But here the flow stops because it is prohibited to use these new products as raw materials for new production (as fodder), but according to new laws emphasizing prevention from human illnesses, they must be liquidated. For this reason it is better to use the term animal waste disposal than reverse logistics.
