Abstract

The rural tourism is a very important part of the tourism business; it makes globally 10–20% in average. The sector is now very dynamic in the whole Europe because it contains suitable activities for restructuring of the agriculture and the countryside as a whole. The rural tourism is an advisable possibility for business for smaller family farms because it provides an additional source of income supplementing the earnings from the agriculture production; it creates new jobs and supports sustainable development of the rural areas. There is no central statistic of the rural tourism in the Czech Republic; there are no databases of services and related revenues. That’s why the intensity and fruitfulness of the sector are difficult to evaluate. To get more precise information a questionnaire investigation was realized. The goal was to map the situation in the rural tourism in the Czech Republic. The article presents the results connected with the length and form of entrepreneurial activity and their possible influence to revenues. It takes in mind also the influence of the promotion methods of the touristic services.
