Impacto de las Agencias de Promoción a las Inversiones en la atracción de Inversión Extranjera Directa: Lecciones para Bolivia

Abstract

La teoría económica ha ocupado su interés en identificar los determinantes de los flujos de Inversión Extranjera Directa y su impacto relativo sobre los mismos. En este marco, limitada literatura basada en casos muy especiales, han analizado el impacto sobre los flujos de inversión de la relativamente reciente implementación de las Agencias de Promoción a la Inversión (API) en numerosos países del mundo. Este documento busca ofrecer evidencia empírica más robusta al respecto para así generar recomendaciones de política más precisas acerca de la pertinencia o no de establecer este tipo de instituciones.
