Efecto de la Inversión Extranjera Directa en el dinamismo macroeconómico: Un análisis empírico para Bolivia

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se analizan los efectos de la Inversión Extranjera Directa (IED) en el dinamismo macroeconómico de la economía boliviana; para este propósito se utiliza la metodología de Vectores Autorregresivos Estructurales (SVAR, por sus siglas en inglés). Los resultados muestran signos esperados de acuerdo a la teoría económica, lo que implica efectos positivos de la inversión extranjera en el crecimiento económico e inversión. Este último supone la complementariedad entre la inversión doméstica y la extranjera. Por otro lado, la IED influye positivamente en los precios, lo cual es contrarrestado con el accionar de la autoridad monetaria. Así también la IED juega un rol importante en la disminución del desempleo y aumenta las importaciones, principalmente las de bienes de capital.
