Impacto de la electrificación rural en Bolivia

Abstract

El presente documento realiza un análisis del efecto que tiene la aplicación de la electrificación rural en indicadores socioeconómicos bajo una metodología de evaluación de impacto cuasi-experimental mediante asignación aleatoria. Se utiliza las Encuestas de Hogares del Instituto Nacional de Estadística e información municipal del Programa Electricidad para Vivir con Dignidad, y se concluye que el programa de electrificación rural tiene un impacto significativo en el incremento de los niveles de ingreso de la población afectada, así como en la reducción de la pobreza y la desigualdad. Asimismo, los municipios tratados por el programa presentan cambios respecto al rubro de ocupación principal de los individuos donde se presenta una sustitución de labor agrícola por ocupaciones más rentables.
