Realising A Support For Reduce Water Pollution By Nitrates From Agricultural Sources

Abstract

One decisive step towards the achievement of a sustainable modern society is represented by the efficient management of water resources. There has been an essential change in most of the governments’ economic policy and related strategies, in those water resources of protection activities are now regarded as an intrinsic component of a sustainable development of the human society. Policies related to the field of water resources, devised by competent authorities, must take into consideration general principles and criteria which are specific to the current context of transition from a regulations-based approach, to the gradual introduction and implementation of new economic tools, in perfect harmony with the EU Directives and legislation. This paper takes into account important aspects of legal and economic nature, which to base decisions in the field mentioned. It also presents a model of sustainable water management, with the possibility of introduction in the economic mechanism
