Abstract

The global recession affected all the economic sectors throughout the world. Consequently, one of the most important sources of economic growth, Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) was severely affected by the economic turmoil and yesterday`s winners are today`s losers. This means, the developed countries lost their edge in receiving FDI flows in favor of the developing or least developed countries. So, it becomes natural to analyze this unprecedented phenomenon in order to better understand how world economies work.
