Confidence intervals associated with a straight line fitted by least squares

Abstract

Een betrouw baarheidsstrook voor een rechte lijn, bepaald met behulp van kleinste kwadraten. In de regressie‐analyse kan men op vrij eenvoudige wijze een betrouwbaarheidsinterval vinden voor één punt van de regressielijn, behorende bij een willekeurig gegeven waarde van de abscis. Dit onderwerp wordt in de meeste handboeken over statistiek behandeld. In tegenstelling hiermee wordt een andere vraag, die hier nauw rnee samenhangt, meestal niet behandeld. Dit is het bepalen van een betrouwbaarheidsstrook voor de lijn in zijn geheel. In dit artikel worden beide methoden besproken.
