Some mathematical aspects of reliability problems

Abstract

De vraag naar het verband tussen de betrouwbaarheid van een systeem en die van zijn onderdeien leidt tot problemen waarvan enkele behandeld worden. Bij systemen met overtolligheid {die de betrouwbaarheid niet altijd verhoogt) wordt onderscheid gemaakt tussen warme en koude reserves. Elk van deze gevallen heeft een analogie met een bepaald wachtprobleem. Een practisch voorbeeld met een koude reserve wordt uitgewerkt.
