Abstract

This study addresses the issue of integration into global agri-food value chains. We formulate the hypothesis that it is necessary to establish strong inter-company relationships and identify the challenges of the said integration process. Based on a descriptive and analytical methodology, the study establishes an inventory of agri-food GVCs and identifies these issues. For Algeria, the article highlights the dominant nature of national agri-food value chains compared to agri-food GVCs, and considers it necessary to master the issues related to the intrinsic capacities of the national agri-food sector, as well as opportunities and threats related to CVM agro-alimentary for a successful integration.
