The shock of the money supply and its repercussions on inflation in Algeria: Standard study using the SVAR structural model for the period 1990-2020

Abstract

تهدف الدراسة إلى قياس وتحليل مدى استجابة التضخم للتغيرات المفاجئة للعرض النقدي في الجزائر للفترة 1990-2020 باستخدام نموذج متجه الانحدار الذاتي الهيكلي SVAR، وقد تم التوصل بناء على دوال الاستجابة الفورية في إطار النموذج المذكور إلى أن حدوث صدمة هيكلية في العرض النقدي ستكون بمثابة صدمة تضخمية على الاقتصاد في المديين القريب والبعيد. وعليه فالدراسة توصي بأهمية الرقابة الفعالة للبنك المركزي على القطاعين المالي والنقدي لكونهما أهم ركائز الاستقرار النقدي والمالي. The study aims to measure and analyze the extent of inflation response to sudden changes in the money supply in Algeria for the period 1990-2020 using the structural autoregressive vector model (SVAR). economy in the short and long term. Accordingly, the study recommends the importance of effective central bank control over the financial and monetary sectors, as they are the most important pillars of monetary and financial stability.
