Abstract

Cet article examine la question de mode d’élimination des déchets municipaux en Algérie. Trois options ont été comparées en utilisant l’analyse coûts-bénéfices au sein d’un ensemble de communes de la wilaya de Boumerdès, à savoir la mise en décharge, l’enfouissement technique et le compostage. Face à la prédominante des déchets organiques dans la composition des déchets municipaux, une combinaison de compostage et du recyclage reste la meilleure solution d’élimination. L’intégration des coûts sociaux dans l’analyse donne un coût social net (CSN) de l’option compostage/recyclage de -4209 DA /T. En revanche, si nous procédons qu’au calcul des coûts privés en écartent les coûts externes, la mise en décharge est l’option la plus efficace avec un coût à la tonne de 1412 DA.
