Abstract

Entrepreneurship serves as a vital instrument for economic growth, job creation, and poverty reduction, particularly in developing economies like Nigeria. This study investigated the factors influencing entrepreneurship development in Imo State, Nigeria. Despite various entrepreneurship programs and policies, the state continues to experience high business failure rates and limited scalability. The study adopted a descriptive quantitative survey design, and data were collected from 200 respondents, including entrepreneurs, students, lecturers, and officials of entrepreneurship agencies. A structured questionnaire measured six constructs—entrepreneurship education, institutional support, infrastructure and finance, cultural and social capital, training and incubation, and policy framework. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression techniques.
