Language Technologies and Neo-Communication: Transforming Digital Discourse in the 21st Century

The digital revolution has fundamentally altered how we communicate, giving rise to what can be termed ‘neo-communication’—a mode of interaction shaped by technological platforms, artificial intelligence, and multimodal expression. This paper explores how natural language technologies, including machine translation, speech recognition, natural language processing, and social media linguistics, are reshaping human communication across cultural, educational, and economic domains. Through an examination of contemporary digital communication practices, we analyze both the transformative potential and critical challenges of these technologies.
