Abstract
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become a corporate strategy to take part in the development of society while improving corporate image. CSR programs have a significant role in tackling socio-economic issues and enhancing the overall quality of life (QoL) of the communities in the developing regions. The objective of this study is to analyse how CSR projects influence the quality of life of beneficiaries in developing areas focusing on some of its main areas of intervention: economy, education, health and social empowerment. This study is quantitative which uses the survey data obtained from beneficiaries of CSR programs in selected areas. The instrument used is structured questionnaire to measure the effectiveness of CSR and its impact on different aspects of quality of life. The data obtained are analyzed by using a structural equation modeling (SEM). The study also explores how community participation and satisfaction of the beneficiaries mediate the strengthening of these relationships. The results will indicate that good CSR programmes can make a meaningful contribution to improving the quality of life, especially if they are good designs and have a strong community involvement. The study offers useful evidence to policy makers, corporate practitioners and development agencies to create better CSR strategies for sustainable and inclusive growth. The present study adds to the body of literature by providing an empirical model that connects CSR initiatives to the quality of life outcomes in developing areas and demonstrates the need for strategic implementation of CSR to realize long-term societal impact.
