Abstract

— Urban economic progress is increasingly dominated by the coming together of smart technologies and automation. This research investigates the degree to which automation has contributed towards triggering economic changes in three of India's smart cities: Sambhajinagar, Pune, and Nagpur. From a reading of pathfinder projects, techno-innovation, and socio-economic effects, this research establishes the relationship between green urban development and automation. The study highlights the optimism of automation to raise efficiency, promote innovation, and stimulate inclusive growth overcoming hurdles like job displacement and infrastructure readiness.
