Abstract

The article discusses the future of institutional support for sustainable development in the context of active digitalization of the economy. It analyzes the main challenges and prospects associated with the introduction of modern digital technologies in various sectors of the economy and society, including public administration, business, science, and social structures. The role of institutions in ensuring the effective implementation and use of digital technologies to promote sustainable development is examined. The importance of institutions in creating conditions for transparency and accountability of processes, as well as ensuring the accessibility of digital services for all segments of the population, is emphasized. The article draws attention to the importance of cooperation between various stakeholders, including government agencies, the private sector, the scientific community, civil society, and international organizations. Such cooperation should contribute to the harmonious development of the digital economy and the implementation of sustainable development principles. It explores issues related to improving institutional mechanisms to enhance the efficiency of digital economy management, data security, and privacy protection. Particular attention is paid to the need to develop policies aimed at promoting innovation, ensuring fairness, and sustainable development. The article also discusses the risks that may arise from unequal access to digital technologies, especially in conditions of social and territorial inequality. It is emphasized that effective institutional support should include not only technical infrastructure but also educational initiatives aimed at improving the digital literacy of the population, which is a necessary condition for the inclusion of broad segments of society in the digital transformation. Particular attention is paid to the issues of cybersecurity, personal data protection, and user rights in the digital environment. The author emphasizes that the development of the digital economy must be accompanied by the updating of the regulatory framework and the creation of adaptive regulatory mechanisms that respond to the dynamics of technological progress. In this context, the state plays an important role as a coordinator and guarantor of the balance between innovation and public interests.
