Abstract

Urban heat islands (UHIs) are a phenomenon that affects cities during heatwaves. The elderly, children or poor households are particularly vulnerable. We present the first measure of UHI exposure in France with respect to income. The link between exposure and income depends on whether affluent households live in city centres like in Paris or in wealthy suburbs like in Lyon.
