French financial institutions facing the climate transition

Abstract

As France undergoes the transition to a low-carbon economy, the financial sector must manage the associated risks and contribute to its financing. The sector's exposure to climate transition risk is far from negligible, while securities and loan portfolios are still not adequately aligned with European low-carbon transition targets. Alors que la France entame sa transition vers une économie bas carbone, le secteur financier doit gérer les risques associés à cette transition et contribuer à son financement. L’exposition du secteur au risque climatique de transition n’est pas négligeable, et les portefeuilles de titres et de prêts demeurent insuffisamment alignés sur les objectifs européens de transition bas carbone.
