Abstract

The scale and duration of the macroeconomic effects of the transition to carbon neutrality will depend on the strategy chosen. A disorderly transition, caused by abrupt or poorly targeted public policies and by the reaction of the private sector, could lead to high volatility in the economic cycle and inflation. L’ampleur et la durée des effets macroéconomiques de la transition vers la neutralité carbone dépendront de la stratégie choisie. Une transition désordonnée, provoquée par des politiques publiques abruptes ou mal ciblées ainsi que par la réaction du secteur privé, pourrait induire une forte volatilité sur le cycle économique et sur l’inflation.
