Are SRI-certified funds greener?
[Les fonds labélisés sont-ils plus verts ?]

Abstract

Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) funds take account of social, environmental and governance considerations in their investment policy. Are they really greener than non-certified funds? Indeed, portfolio analysis suggests that on average they are. However, certification does not necessarily guarantee environmental excellence. Les fonds labélisés « ISR » (Investissement Socialement Responsable) intègrent des considérations sociales, environnementales et de gouvernance à leur politique d’investissement. Sont-ils vraiment plus « verts » que les fonds non labélisés ? L’analyse des portefeuilles suggère que c’est le cas en moyenne. Mais l’attribution du label n’est pas synonyme d’excellence environnementale pour autant.
