Comparative assessment of using terminology in the bank governance process

Abstract

The article deals with scientific approaches to the interpretation of such concepts as banking governance, banking management and banking system governance. A comparative assessment of the interpretation of such definitions as governance and management was carried out. Their meaning, common purpose and differences are shown. The meaningful characteristics of banking and its main types are given. The content of the concept of banking governance is considered from the point of view of economics, regulation and supervision, as well as from the point of view of management. The main tasks in the process of bank governance are identified, which include: ensuring financial stability, attracting and managing funds, ensuring a high level of customer service, innovation, legality and ethics, profit maximization, risk control. The main approaches to the interpretation of the origin of the concept of banking management are considered. The authors provided a comparative assessment of the interpretation of this concept by modern scientists. The main principles of banking management are identified, according to which it is the process of governance the financial banking, including risk management, profitability, liquidity, capital, and development business. The concept of banking system governance was studied through the prism of the concept of banking system. The key aspects of banking system governance are identified, which include ensuring the effective functioning, ensuring the stability and security of the financial system. Based on the results of the analysis and assessment of the terminology used in the modern process of bank governance, the author's definitions of such concepts as banking governance and banking management are proposed. The meaning of the concept of banking system governance when it is applied in the governance of the complex of banks in the country's financial system is argued
