Festival tourism as the strategic direction of the development of regional tourism policy of Zaporizhzhia

Abstract

The article examines the festival events of the city of Zaporizhia. The city's festival events are characterized by their functional purpose. An example is the All-Ukrainian Cossack Festival «Pokrova na Khortytsia», music festivals «Khortytsia Freedom» and «Zaporizhzhia Jazzy», Zaporizhzhia International Film Festival «ZIFF», street food festival «Picnic on Rayduza», literary and art festival «Toloka-fest», festival of colors «Holi-fest» and many others. The results of holding festivals to create a positive image of the city's cultural and artistic environment are given. The special importance of this type of tourism for the recovery of the economy of cities, regions and the country as a whole is outlined. It is proposed to develop festival tourism, because it contributes to increasing employment of the population, development of market relations, international cooperation, preservation of ecological balance, contributes to the formation of tourist flows and has a positive impact on the development of tourist infrastructure
