Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of mentality, which, despite the presence of significant achievements of world and domestic science in understanding its essential features, continues to retain many debatable points. Recently, the increased interest in this problem was caused by serious political confrontational processes in the world, in particular the Russian-Ukrainian war, which actualized the search for deep ethno-psycho-social mechanisms that underlie the expansionist racist policy and the armed resistance of the Ukrainian people for the preservation of their own statehood and national identity. Such a role of mentality forces us to turn once again to the nature of various manifestations of this phenomenon, taking into account the achievements of modern ethnosocial and ethno-psychological research of science. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to outline the most general boundaries of the problem field of the phenomenon of mentality. The task is to determine the key aspects of the mentality problem that can be transfered into the practical plane
