Abstract

The article is dedicated to the study of human capital in the modern paradigm of the knowledge economy from the point of economic growth. The features of human capital, which is the dominant factor of production in the modern economy from the point of view of resource and investment approaches, are given. The components forming human capital are characterized. The results of the research presented in the work allow to more thoroughly and systematically reveal the essence of human capital, its role and significance in the economic growth and national wealth of countries. Human capital is one of the most important components of modern productive capital, characterized by a significant stock of knowledge, abilities, determined by intellectual and creative potential. The connection of human capital with the level of national wealth and economic growth, as well as the key role of the education system in the formation of the "knowledge society" and the formation of the level of human capital corresponding to its parameters, are substantiated. It is shown that in the conditions of the knowledge economy, human capital is the main value of society and a determining factor of institutional transformations. A key feature of the formation of human capital is the need for significant expenditure both on the part of an individual and on the part of society as a whole. The leading role of human capital as a factor of innovative development in the conditions of the knowledge economy is substantiated. The conducted analysis showed that the formation and use of human capital in Ukraine has significant problems, especially in the field of education, which leads to a rapid loss of human capital and, as a result, can limit the optimization of productions, conducting applied researches, innovative development of the state, which can cause negative irreversible socio-economic consequences for Ukraine. There are reasonable grounds to believe that the next decade will be a time of particularly intense changes in the development of human capital in the system of the knowledge economy, therefore, in the education system to ensure sustainable technological modernization of the national economy, it is necessary to strengthen mathematical and natural training in educational institutions of all levels, popularize and stimulate continuous education throughout life, improve technical and technological tools for distance learning
