Abstract

Esta conferencia es el resultado de la visita que hizo a Colombia Stanley Fischer, vicepresidente del Fondo Monetario Internacional en 1996. Una de las conclusiones de su visita fue que en Colombia no había una consciencia clara en la sociedad de las ventajas de reducir la inflación. Precisamente por no haber tenido la experiencia socialmente costosa de la hiperinflación, como en otros países del continente, la población en Colombia no parecía valorar la estabilidad de precios.
