Variables de referencia para el análisis de la inflación en España

Abstract

En esta nota se analizan los principales factores que han motivado la reciente adopción por parte de la Dirección General de Economía y Estadística (DGEE) del Banco de España del Índice Armonizado de Precios de Consumo (IAPC) y de la medida asociada de inflación subyacente (IAPC excluidos la energía y los alimentos), como variables de referencia en el análisis de la inflación en España, frente a la práctica habitual hasta la fecha basada en el Índice de Precios de Consumo (IPC) y el Índice de Precios de Servicios y Bienes Elaborados No Energéticos (IPSEBENE). Las ventajas, en términos de comunicación y homogeneidad, con el resto de los países de la Unión Económica y Monetaria (UEM) y el Banco Central Europeo (BCE) aconsejan centrar el análisis regular de la evolución de los precios en las medidas armonizadas. En cualquier caso, el IPC seguirá analizándose regularmente, dada su mayor cobertura de aspectos regionales y su mayor dimensión temporal.
