Características cíclicas de la economía española en el período 1980-2005

Abstract

En el pasado, diversos trabajos han explorado empíricamente los principales hechos estilizados del comportamiento cíclico de la economía española. Sin embargo, la publicación en 2005 de nuevas estimaciones de Contabilidad Nacional en base 2000 (CNE-2000) —que ha supuesto cambios metodológicos notables, como la inclusión de índices encadenados o el uso de nuevos procedimientos de estimación y fuentes estadísticas [véase Banco de España (2005)]—, junto con la incorporación de los datos sobre la evolución económica más reciente, que muestran una expansión prolongada de la actividad, puede haber afectado a las regularidades cíclicas encontradas. Por ello, es interesante examinar las características del comportamiento de la economía española en las últimas décadas a la luz de esta nueva evidencia, además de contrastar la estabilidad de esas pautas en el tiempo.
