Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the micro factors affecting the profitability of deposit banks in the Turkish banking sector. For this purpose, panel data analysis was performed by using the data between the years 2009-2017 of the 10 largest banks in terms of asset size. As a result of the analysis, a significant relationship was found between the average asset profitability, capital adequacy ratio, operating expenses ratio, financial asset / total asset ratio and average equity profitability, capital adequacy ratio, operating expense and liquid asset / total asset ratios. There was no significant relationship between capital ratio and both dependent variables.
