Transferencias monetarias condicionadas, crédito agropecuario y la acumulación de activos productivos de los hogares rurales en el Perú

Abstract

El objetivo de la investigación es estimar empíricamente la relación entre articulación potencial del Programa Juntos y el crédito agropecuario en la acumulación de activos productivos por parte de los hogares rurales pobres en el Perú. Con base en información de hogares rurales proveniente del Censo Nacional Agropecuario (CENAGRO), se encuentra evidencia que sugiere que la articulación Juntos-crédito se asociaría positivamente con la acumulación de activos productivos. En particular, la articulación entre el Programa Juntos y el crédito incrementaría la cantidad de tierra cultivada y la acumulación de animales; sin embargo, tales relaciones están condicionadas por el género del jefe(a) de hogar y por características territoriales. Se considera que la acumulación de activos productivos por parte de los hogares rurales en estado de pobreza, podría ser un indicador de la capacidad económica de largo plazo, donde mejoras en la posición de activos de hogares pobres podría constituirse en un mecanismo que permita la reducción de la vulnerabilidad y constituirse en un instrumento de política para promover el desarrollo rural en el Perú. Este estudio se desarrolló como resultado del XV Concurso Anual de Investigación CIES 2013, con el auspicio del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, Comercio y Desarrollo de Canadá (DFATD, por sus siglas en inglés), el Centro Internacional de Investigaciones para el Desarrollo (IDRC, por sus siglas en inglés) y la Fundación Manuel J. Bustamante de la Fuente.
