¿Risk Sharing?: un análisis de remuneraciones, shocks y legislación laboral en el sector manufacturero – Perú 1970-1996

Abstract

La tendencia decreciente y variable de las remuneraciones es un tema de vital importancia en tanto afecta los niveles de consumo de la población y les impide suavizar los efectos de los shocks a los cuales están expuestos, generando incluso la probabilidad de caer en la pobreza. Diversos análisis han sido ensayados para explicar este fenómeno a partir de los cambios estructurales de la economía y las reformas laborales. En ese sentido la investigación presenta una nueva visión desde el punto de vista de las estrategias de recursos humano, así se demuestra a través de regresiones dinámicas sobre una base pseudopanel para el período 1970-2006 que el 50% de las variaciones de las remuneraciones es explicada por prácticas de risk-sharing en el sector manufacturero. Las cuales consisten en fijar los salarios de los trabajadores según la performance de la firma. Este estudio se desarrolló como resultado del VII Concurso Anual de Investigación CIES 2005,con el auspicio de la Agencia Canadiense para el Desarrollo Internacional (ACDI) y el Centro Internacional de Investigaciones para el Desarrollo (IDRC, por sus siglas en inglés).
