Development of Renewable Energy Sources in Bulgaria

Abstract

The status and development of renewable and alternative energy sources (RES) in Bulgaria until the year 2020 were analyzed. The advantages of the generation of Green Energy from biomass, water, solar, wind and geo thermal plants are highlighted. The basic factors of the effects on each RES are studied, as well as the encountered problems and their settlement. The structural trends and priorities from the RES portfolio are determined and the directions for their further development in Bulgaria on this basis.
