Abstract

Risk management is a crucial aspect of banking activity. This is especially relevant in today's scenario, in which credit institutions are more exposed to the judgment of the stakeholders. The present work analyzes an innovative way of governing risk that provides for the integration of Corporate Social Responsibility issues into operational processes. For this purpose, close cooperation between the Risks Area and the Sustainability Area is required; in particular, on the issue of reputational risk and on public disclosure, also in view of Directive 2014/95/Eu on the reporting of nonfinancial information. Starting from some concrete cases belonging to the financial and insurance sectors, the paper identifies two models of collaboration for a management, which, at the same time, is responsible and mitigates the business’ risks
