Credit strategies, risk and planning process

Abstract

The sharp fall of profitability has shifted assets toward areas entailing a higher risk on the balance sheet side; international diversification may have had, in some cases, a mitigating effect. The banking industry has improving the credit processes and implementing credit risk strategies based on efficient frontiers on return risk adjusted performance indicators.The paper shows the steps through which an effective credit strategy can be performed and subsequently monitored, with profitable returns both on cost of risk and on sustainable long term value creation
