Bringing liquidity to the new crypto economy

Author

Abstract

The crypto economy is booming. We are on the cusp of mass adoption, and the global financial sector has acknowledged that blockchain is here to stay. But before it can make the final leap into the public sphere, cryptocurrency faces significant barriers, one of which is liquidity. A lack of liquidity is blocking people in underserved markets from entering the space while the market itself is too volatile to calm the nerves of banks and financial institutions. This paper outlines the historical challenges of an illiquid cryptocurrency sector and explores the steps required to address the issue and truly democratise finance.
