Abstract

Maurice Ravel is one of the most important representatives of Western modern music in the 20th century, and he has made far-reaching contributions to the development of Western modern music with his unique musical style and compositional philosophy. Ravel's music not only made important achievements in the impressionist tradition, but also further expanded the boundaries of modern music through innovative forms, structures and the absorption of ethnic musical elements. In his works, Ravel broke the boundaries of traditional harmony and tonality with his superb technique and unique aesthetic sense, and brought a new way of expression to western modern music. By analyzing Ravel's masterpieces, such as Bolero and Daphne and Chloe, we can see how he opened up the diversified path of modern music style through the fusion of impressionism and modern techniques. Ravel's music not only had a profound impact at the time, but still provides a rich source of inspiration and resources for modern composers and music education.
