Abstract

As a local monthly magazine founded during the period of united front cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Guangdong Woman has strong characteristics of the times. The rising influence of women provided both a favorable context and a strong driving force for their mobilisation by both the Kuomintang and the Communist Party during this period. By analyzing the background, content and social impact of this periodical, we can better understand the unique role of Guangdong women in the historical process during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the complexity and far-reaching impact of women's mobilisation, as well as the important role that women played in the destiny of the country and the nation.
