Abstract
This study investigates a specific section of the Hefei-Anqing High-Speed Railway bridge project, with a focus on the critical aspects of risk identification and evaluation in bridge engineering safety management. The research systematically analyzes various types of safety incidents and their spatial and temporal distribution during the construction phase, enabling the identification of principal risk sources and the assessment of their potential severity. To provide a structured approach for safety management, a comprehensive evaluation index system was developed, encompassing six key dimensions: personnel, equipment, materials, technology, environment, and management. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was applied to assign weights to each risk indicator, reflecting their relative significance in the overall safety assessment. To further enhance the evaluation process, the Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation (FCE) method was integrated, resulting in a robust safety risk management model capable of handling the inherent uncertainties in construction operations. In parallel, an improved Wall scoring method was employed to establish an early warning mechanism, which allows for timely detection and mitigation of high-risk situations. The proposed model and early warning system were implemented in the actual bridge project, demonstrating their effectiveness in achieving comprehensive risk control and ensuring construction safety. The findings provide practical guidance for the safe execution of bridge engineering projects within this section of the Hefei-Anqing High-Speed Railway and offer transferable insights and strategies for risk management in similar large-scale bridge constructions throughout China. By combining quantitative evaluation, fuzzy analysis, and proactive monitoring, this study contributes to the broader application of scientific risk management practices in bridge engineering and supports the advancement of safety-oriented construction methodologies.
