Design and Application of Anti-Drowning Alarm Based on STM32

Abstract

This study presents an anti-drowning alarm system that utilizes the STM32 microcontroller as the central control unit and integrates multiple functional modules to achieve comprehensive monitoring capabilities. Leveraging Internet of Things (IoT) technology, the system connects embedded processing and sensing technologies to form an intelligent platform capable of real-time monitoring of vital physiological and environmental parameters. Specifically, the device can continuously measure the wearer's heart rate, detect water level and atmospheric pressure, and provide accurate GPS positioning. Additionally, it is equipped with a one-button emergency call function, allowing users in water to alert rescuers immediately in case of danger. The collected data are transmitted through a WiFi module to a cloud-based server, where they are displayed and stored for further analysis. By enabling swimmers to track their physiological conditions and environmental risks in real time, the system significantly enhances water safety and can play a crucial role in reducing the occurrence of drowning accidents. This device demonstrates practical value for personal safety protection in aquatic environments and offers a reliable reference for the development of intelligent anti-drowning solutions.
