Abstract

This study constructs a comparative corpus consisting of the original text of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and its DeepSeek-generated continuation. Through corpus-based methods, key indicators such as standardized type/token ratio, mean sentence length, and sentence length standard deviation are analyzed. The results show that DeepSeek can reproduce surface linguistic patterns, but struggles to capture deeper stylistic dimensions rooted in narrative rhythm, character discourse, and socio-cultural context, thus revealing the inherent limitations of AI in literary continuation.
