Abstract

This review paper explores classroom management strategies within the context of international Chinese language education (ICLE) from an intercultural perspective. It examines the challenges and opportunities that arise when teachers and students from diverse cultural backgrounds interact in the classroom. The paper synthesizes research on culturally responsive teaching, communication styles, and conflict resolution techniques to provide a comprehensive understanding of effective classroom management in ICLE. Furthermore, it analyzes case studies of classroom management practices in various international settings, identifying common themes and best practices. This review also addresses the impact of cultural differences on student behavior, teacher-student relationships, and overall classroom dynamics. The findings highlight the importance of intercultural competence for both teachers and students in creating a positive and productive learning environment. The paper concludes by suggesting future research directions and practical implications for ICLE practitioners, emphasizing the need for ongoing professional development and culturally sensitive approaches to classroom management.
