Abstract
With the rapid advancement of the Internet of Things (IoT), its application in basic education has become an important component of digital transformation in the education sector. This study provides a comprehensive review of the current development and application of IoT technologies in basic education. It explores key implementation areas, including the construction of smart campuses supported by interconnected sensing devices, the development of intelligent teaching environments that enhance classroom interaction and learning efficiency, the optimization of administrative management through real-time data monitoring, and the improvement of students' daily campus experiences. Furthermore, IoT technology has enabled new forms of home-school collaboration, allowing parents and teachers to share student performance data, track learning progress, and coordinate educational interventions more effectively. Despite these promising applications, several practical challenges remain. The lack of unified technical standards and interoperability across platforms often leads to fragmented system deployment. Concerns about data security and student privacy continue to be major obstacles to widespread adoption. Moreover, the readiness and acceptance of teachers and students toward intelligent systems significantly influence the success of implementation. Addressing these challenges requires coordinated efforts in policy support, professional training, and the establishment of secure and transparent data governance mechanisms. Overall, the integration of IoT technology into basic education represents not only a technological upgrade but also a fundamental transformation in educational management and pedagogy, offering new opportunities for personalized, data-driven, and inclusive learning environments.
