Research on the Spatial Correlation Network Characteristics and Driving Factors of Technological Innovation of Strategic Emerging Industries in China

Abstract

Based on the gravity model and QAP model, this paper studies the network structure characteristics and driving factors of the spatial correlation of technological innovation of strategic emerging industries(TIOSEI)in China. The results show that: (1) the spatial correlation of TIOSEI presents a relatively stable and typical network structure, and the spatial correlation of technological innovation between provinces is increasingly strong. (2) Shanghai and Jiangsu play the role of "engines" in the network, Beijing and Fujian play the role of "intermediaries", and Shanghai and Hubei play the role of "central actors". (3) Geographical proximity, market openness, R&D funding and R&D personnel investment have positive effects on the spatial correlation of TIOSEI. This paper also puts forward the corresponding policy recommendations.
