Abstract

This study examines the design of a Financial English curriculum based on English for Specific Purposes (ESP) theory, aiming to meet the specialized language needs of finance students in higher education. The curriculum integrates authentic financial materials and employs practice-oriented teaching methods, such as case-based learning, role-playing, simulation, and project-based tasks, to enhance learners' linguistic competence and professional skills. The modular structure covers financial terminology, document analysis, writing, business communication, and cross-cultural communication. The study also discusses assessment strategies and highlights the importance of aligning language instruction with real-world professional contexts. Finally, future research directions are proposed, focusing on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and personalized learning platforms to further improve Financial English teaching effectiveness.
