Abstract

Entrepreneurial culture plays a critical role in fostering entrepreneurship and driving economic growth. This paper analyses the perceptions of entrepreneurs regarding the entrepreneurial culture component within the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the Republic of Moldova. The study also analyse the most significant indicators of entrepreneurial culture within the country, based on international rankings. The research methodology combines primary and secondary data collection. Primary data was obtained through a survey conducted in 2022, involving active participation from the author and responses from 204 entrepreneurs. Additionally, secondary data from reputable international organizations, including the World Economic Forum's Global Competitiveness Reports and World Bank data were analysed. The research findings highlight a generally positive and neutral evaluation of entrepreneurial culture among entrepreneurs. However, there remains a reservation regarding accepting entrepreneurs who have faced business failures. Furthermore, the study identifies reluctance among entrepreneurs to embrace and develop innovations, potentially linked to a prevalent risk-averse culture in Moldova, reflected by the country's low rankings in the growth of innovative enterprises and the adoption of disruptive ideas.
